  Status:  Resident.

Distribution and Abundance:  Fairly common.

Primary Habitat:  Woodland.

Flight Period:  Almost entirely single brooded in May, June and July, but another brood has occurred in August and September.

Observations:  The small second brood is very infrequent, but does seem to account for the records from Weekley Hall Wood on 23 August 1938 and 6 September 1923 when two moths were seen.

L.O.N.:  1907. Many localities. Chiefly in woods. Common.
