  Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Observations:  In literature the moth is frequently quoted as producing an occasional partial second brood in the autumn. I have been unable to find any record of this having occurred in the county.

L.O.N.: 1907. Many localities. Common at treacle.

First Record: 1845, Whitwell.
