| Swallow-tailed Moth Ourapteryx sambucaria |
| Status:
Resident. Distribution and Abundance: Common. Primary Habitat: General occurrence. Flight Period: Almost entirely single brooded in July with a few moths appearing as a very partial second generation in the autumn. Observations: Recently the incidence of moths appearing in the autumn has increased markedly. I have recorded singletons at light in September and October in five out of the last ten years in my own garden. Historically, this has always been a rare occurrence in the county with records only from 1945 and 1947. L.O.N.: 1907. Many localities. Common. First Record: 1858, Green. |
