Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in March and April.

Observations: Extreme variation of the species is rare in the county. The only example that I have seen is a dark suffused form of the male that was taken on 13 March 1993 at Kirtley Coppice.
