Vagrant/Accidental and Temporary Resident. Distribution and Abundance: Scarce. Primary Habitat: Woodland. Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August. Records: Three were recorded on 15 August 1987 at Yardley Chase (B. Statham) and a singleton in July 1992 in Wellingborough (D. Larkin). Observations: Established and recorded annually in the 1930s and the 1940s in the Kettering area. L.O.N.: Undated. Billing, Cogenhoe. First Record: 1859, Sturgess. |
