  Status:  Resident and Migrant.

Distribution and Abundance:  Fairly common.

Primary Habitat:  Woodland.

Flight Period:  Single brooded in July and August.

Observations:  In the 1930’s the moth was found to be well established in a row of old poplars in a Kettering park. The mature caterpillars used to be recorded annually resting in crevices in the bark of the trees in June.

L.O.N.:  1907. Many localities. Irregular. Sometimes abundant.
