| White Ermine Spilosoma lubricipeda |
| Status:
Resident. Distribution and Abundance: Common. Primary Habitat: General occurrence. Flight Period: Single brooded from May to July. Observations: In most localities more common at light than its congener the Buff Ermine, (S. luteum). The occasional small second brood is rare in this county, I have only been able to trace three instances. These were on 2 September 1934 at Kettering and 23 October 1952 and 24 August 1953 at Wellingborough. L.O.N.: 1907. Everywhere. Very common. First Record: 1842, Clark. |
