Key to Text Moths of Northamptonshire

Key to Map
  Ruby Tiger Phragmatobia fuliginosa

  Status:  Resident.

Distribution and Abundance:  Common.

Primary Habitat:  General occurrence.

Flight Period:  Double brooded in May and again in July and August.

Observations:  Although the moth has been recorded in all months from April to September, it is much more plentiful at light in the second brood. My own field records over the past decade show that despite seeing the moth every year, I have only seen moths of the first brood twice.

L.O.N.:  Unrecorded.

First Record:  1842, Clark.
