Resident. Distribution and Abundance: Very common. Primary Habitat: General occurrence. Flight Period: Single brooded in March and April. Observations: Melanics occur but are rare. The only example that I have seen is a female that emerged from a pupa that was dug up from the roots of elm at Warkton in 1975. L.O.N.: 1907. Everywhere.Very common. First Record: 1882, Hull & Tomalin. |
