| Status:
Resident. Distribution and Abundance: Fairly common. Primary Habitat: Waste ground. Flight Period: Single brooded in April and May. Observations: The caterpillar is much more frequently seen than the moth, usually feeding openly on great mullein, often in sufficient numbers to decimate the plant. In July 1981, several were observed on water figwort growing on the banks of the Slade Brook near Kettering. L.O.N.: 1906. Several localities. Uncertain. First Record: 1859, Sturgess. |
