Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Gardens.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Observations: Much more plentiful in urban areas with dark and variable forms occurring. Small sized moths were noted in 1992 following the exceptionally dry spring locally.
