Distribution and Abundance:  Local.

Primary Habitat:  Wetland.

Flight Period:  Mainly single brooded in June and July, occasionally seen as a partial second brood in August.

Localities:  Ditchford lakes, Newton, Whitewater Reservoir and Belham Wood.

Observations:  Prior to m.v. light trapping there were no Northamptonshire records for this species. It has now been recorded from some ten sites, occasionally well away from wetland. Even though some of these are possible breeding sites it has always been seen in very small numbers at light.
