The Year 5 children (left) are investigating
polyhedron nets - with great success.  The Year 6s (right) are constructing a tetrahedron using art straws.  As well as
investigating the properties of shape they are learning about co-operation!

These three pictures show a group of Year 6 pupils working on an ambitious project to make large 3D shapes.  The
mathematical vocabulary used during this activity is very impressive.  The children enjoy this method of investigative learning.

Task:
Using 12 equal length bamboo canes, how many different shapes can you make?
(You may use all or some of the canes)

These Year 2 children have estimated the length of classroom objects in cm and are now measuring the lengths using metre sticks.
