ST THOMAS MORE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Living locally - Thinking globally

Schools are focal points of their neighbourhoods, reflecting the culture and values of their community. But in today's world of travel and technology, the whole world is our classroom.

At St Thomas More School we believe we have a responsibility to make children aware of the impact for good or bad of trade, tourism, industry, lifestyle etc. Our pupils are joint stewards of the earth with the children in other communities world-wide. By creating and developing friendly links with children in other parts of the world, exchanging information on lifestyles and environments, and welcoming visitors to our school, we raise our awareness, develop respect for each other, and share knowledge and skills for our mutual benefit, now, and for future generations.

At present we have links with Kisumu in Western Kenya and Sochi in Russia (see maps below) and exchange letters, news and photographs. We also send and receive books and samples of work and our Headteachers visit each other's schools. We would welcome links with primary schools in other parts of the world.
