The village shop sells most things.  It is a Newsagent, Post Office, Grocers, video outlet, Off Licence and would qualify for most other titles you would like to give it.  There is also a specialist Stove Shop.   Within the parish we have three pubs, "The George", "The Red Lion" and "The Halfway House", two of which are in the village.   All serve excellent food at very reasonable prices.  For those who wish to go upmarket when eating out we also have "The Hunt House" - the sort of thatched cobbled environment you are supposed to find in a village!

KILSBY                                  Kilsby is a really good little village.  It is very near the centre of England.  Fig. 1 shows just how much of central England sits within a 50 mile radius.  Rugby and Daventry are our nearest towns.  Kilsby itself is perfectly placed as a commuter village being very near the heart of the motorway system.  This position has led to the recent development of the " Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal "(DIRFT)" within our parish.  Kilsby village, however, remains a good balance between old and new.  We have old thatched cottages with history and ghosts in good measure, as well as newer housing estates where most of us live.

The Post Office

There used to be at least five farms actually within the village but now only one has its house and working yard within its bounds.  Others have moved out of the village or been amalgamated.  There are now four farms within the parish.  We also have allotments for the hardy amateurs.
