KILSBY

There are three pubs in the parish of Kilsby and two in the actual village.  There are two shops in the village.  The main shop sells groceries, rents videos and has a Post Office inside.  It is generally known as the corner shop. The second shop sells anything to do with fires.  There is a village hall which can be used for parties.  There is a Chapel and a Church.  There is also a quite well known tunnel called the Kilsby Tunnel.  It was created by the famour George Stephenson.

A few miles away from Kilsby is the site of D.I.R.F.T. (Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal.)

In Kilsby there is a park with swings, a slide and a climbing frame.  It is much enjoyed in the summer by the children.  Kilsby has a Brownie Pack, Cubs and Scouts and also Rainbows.  The school has a table tennis club after school on Fridays.  There are also netball and football games played with local schools.

Quite a lot of Kilsby is modern, but there are still some houses over 500 years old.  In the summer there is the village parade where groups from the village make floats.
