Every hour, the latest D2 METEOSAT image is reduced to 384x288 pixels and added to a buffer in Nottingham University. This animation shows the last 24 of these images. Note that the image is of infra-red wavelengths and that a dark colour means hot and a light colour means cold (broadly speaking!). Watch Africa warm up during the day.
