Lochearnhead

Lochearnhead is 15 miles from Callander and 30 miles from Stirling.
Our Village is small and it is at the head of Loch Earn. We have a small shop, a post office, two hotels, a guesthouse, a play park and a water sports centre.
There are two new areas of housing being built.
It is quieter in Winter and busier in Summer, which is when we have the Lochearnhead Sheep Shearing Competition and the Highland Games.
The old railway station is used by the Scouts as a camp.

Lochearnhead is surrounded by hills which are covered in heather and forestry. The hills have Gaelic names such as Meall a'Meadaidh, Meall Reomhor and Ben Our.

Our end of the loch is fed by four burns. The Ogle burn runs down Glen Ogle and passes the school and the Watersports Centre.

The main employment in the area is farming, forestry, estate-work and tourism.
