Admissions To The School

From our linked schools
We are linked with the primary schools in Thame, Chinnor, Aston Rowant and Tetsworth in Oxfordshire, and with Brill and Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire. Places are available for students who live in these villages and parents are automatically informed of the transfer arrangements. School buses serve these villages. The catchment area also includes the villages of Henton, Sydenham, Kingston Blount, Towersey, Moreton and Shabbington.
As there is an alternative secondary school available to the students who live in Aston Rowant, Chinnor, Henton, Kingston Blount and Sydenham, Oxfordshire County Council may offer a place at the alternative school if Lord Williams's School is over-subscribed.

Admission into Years 7 - 11

~ If your child attends one of our partnership schools - Brill, Long Crendon, Aston Rowant, Tetsworth, Mill Lane or St Andrew's in Chinnor - you will receive an invitation to attend an Open Morning on a date which has been agreed with his/her primary school headteacher in September/October 2000.
~ If your child attends one of the 3 partnership primary schools in Thame - St Joseph's, Barley Hill, John Hampden - you will receive an invitation to attend an Open Morning on a date which has been agreed with his/her primary school headteacher in March/April, 2001.
~ Open Mornings for those who do not attend our partnership primary schools will take place on:-
- Friday, 29th September 2000
- Friday, 6th October 2000
We often have places in Year 7 for students who live outside the area of our linked schools.

Oxfordshire County Council produces an information booklet outlining the procedure for admission to secondary schools in Oxfordshire. If your child attends one of the partnership primary schools he or she will be given one of these booklets at school to bring home to you. If your child does not attend one of the schools listed above you can obtain a booklet by writing to School Admissions, Education Department, Macclesfield House, New Road, Oxford, OX1 1NA, or Tel: 01865-810613

The information booklet contains a pink preference card which you will need to complete and return to Oxfordshire County Council no later than 20th October 2000.

All applicants will be informed by Oxfordshire County Council as to whether they have been successful in obtaining a place at the school by 12th January 2001.

The number of students admitted to any one year is normally 320. Oxfordshire County Appeals Panel hears submissions for places over this number.

Parents seeking admission to any other year group during the school year should first contact the Lower School to ask for more information: ( Thame 01844 210510.

Enquiries
General enquiries about the school can be made to the school’s administrative staff on either site. We are always pleased to show the school to interested parents and their daughters and sons.
