"Good Morning Mr. Dickens!"

Pupils in Years 4,5 and 6 have been fortuneate enough to be involved in an exciting Literacy / History project called "Good Morning, Mr. Dickens!"

Top class actor, Chris Connaughty visited the school and gave a one man performance and played a variety of roles, including Dickens himself and various characters from "Nicholas Nickleby" (which was written in Barnard Castle).

A second highlight for pupils was a visit to Bowes Museum to work with Chris at the museum to find pout more about conditions in schools in the time of Dickens. We are glad our school is nothing like that!!!

A final day back at school gave everyone a chance to ask Chris a wide range of questions and to listen to him tell some excellent Victorian stories.
