SCIENCE

Within science there are three main contexts which are:

Life processes and Living things – children study human and plant life looking at growth, nutrition, movement, health and adaptation.

Materials and their properties – this context includes studying grouping, classifying, changing and separating materials.

Physical Processes – investigating electricity, forces, light and sound, the earth and beyond.

These three areas are used to provide a focus for the development of children’s knowledge and understanding about experimental and invetigative skills and methods in science. Practical activities enable the pupils to experience and utilise a wide variety of equipment to solve problems, gather information, analyse results and reach scientific conclusions based on evidence.
