ICT

In ICT we have a scheme of work which ensures the children have access to a wide range of ICT hardware, software and the acquisition of the associated skills:

finding things out (communication)
developing ideas of making things happen (monitoring)
exchanging and sharing information
reviewing, modifying and evaluating work as it happens (modelling).

The children use ICT alongside all other curriculum areas. We have focused the "communicating/finding things out" as an on-going strand through the academic year in each year group. The remaining three strands are delivered termly ensuring clear progression of skills in the strands on the children’s progress from Reception to Year 6.

Year 4/5 and 6 have PC’s linked to the Internet. They use the digital cameras and scanners within their everyday work and Year 6 pupils send emails to each other via home computing, including emailing homework! They are currently constructing the schools web site!

The PTA as given the school £5,000 to purchase additonal PC’s and software to implement the ICT scheme of work.
