ABSENCE/ILLNESS The school has an excellent rate of unauthorised absence and for 1998-99 the percentage of 1/2 days were: - Authorised 3.8% - Unauthorised 0.3% Should your child's attendance be prevented unexpectedly please let us know immediately by telephone or email and confirm the reason by letter on your child's return to school. The School Governors are obliged to report all unauthorised absences to the Department of Education and Employment and to include statistics on unauthorised pupil absences in the Governors Annual Report to parents. Absence due to family holidays should not exceed 10 school days unless exceptional circumstances prevail. Beyond this the absence must be deemed unauthorised. Leave of Absence forms are available from the School Office. |
