COLLECTIVE WORSHIP At Lydiard Millicent School we offer a daily act of Collective Worship, for all children, the majority of which, are a mainly or wholly a broadly Christian character, reflecting the broad traditions of Anglican Worship, in accordance with the Trust Deed. Most Assemblies are held in the Activity Hall although some are undertaken in classrooms, depending on the size of the group. Themes are planned for the year such as Determination, Friendship and Change and these provide a focus for worship. Outside speakers are encouraged to take part in Assemblies whenever appropriate to the planned content and parents are invited to attend Class Assemblies and Success Assemblies. On special occasions pupils will visit the local church, eg Harvest, Christmas, Easter and the Revd Peter Knight, assisted by the Parish Careforce Worker, leads worship on a weekly basis. Parents have the right to withdraw their children from all or part of Collective Worship. Should this be the case, the Headteacher must be notified in writing. An alternative activity would be provided, under the supervision of an adult. Co-ordinator - Mrs K Godfrey |
