EDUCATIONAL VISITS

Visits related to the children's studies provide meaningful first hand experience and enhance the curriculum. During recent years, the children have visited local museums, water parks, farms and wild life parks.

However, each year the children from Year 6 have the opportunity to take part in a six day visit to Normandy. The group stays at a centre at Conde sur Vire, near Domjean, one of the Lydiards' twin villages.

A very special relationship has been developed between the two schools and each year we receive a very warm welcome. In addition the children visit historic sites and places of interest in Normandy, including Bayeux and the D-Day landing beaches, gaining some insight into the French way of life.

This year's visit, the ninth, will take place from 3 - 8 June 2000.
