A short history of myself and Ramisoft

My initial involvement with computers in education goes back to the 1970's, taking groups of two or three pupils to the local technical college in the evening to type in short programs they had written! More recently, I was an Advisory Teacher for Information Technology in Croydon for seven years, and then Adviser/Inspector for Technology in Lambeth for a further seven. On leaving Lambeth, as a result of yet another "restructure", I decided to set myself up as an Education/ICT Consultant, using the company name RAMISOFT.

Why call my company RAMISOFT ?

Several years ago, I produced some computer programs (software) for use in school, including a version of LOGO, and some related teaching materials.

To sell things to LEAs, I found I needed a company name, and so I used the first letters of my daughters' first names, Rachel and Michelle - hence RaMiSoft - there was already a company called Mirrorsoft, so I didn't want to use MiRaSoft.

When I started working as an independent consultant, I felt it would be nice to keep the "family" connection!
