All about Low Mill

The Centre

Low Mill in a converted water mill beautifully situated on the edge of the village of Askrigg in Wensleydale. The centre was opened in 1976 to run courses for groups of young people of all ages and abilities, and in 1981 a wing was added to accommodate groups with special needs. The money to set up Low Mill was raised by local people who wanted to share the Yorkshire Dales with young people no matter what their circumstances. Today much of the original ethos of Low Mill remains although the scope of it’s courses and the expertise of it’s staff has broadened and deepened. The Centre is a non-profit making charitable trust run by a management committee of village people.
