Markethill School aims to provide a happy, secure, caring and stimulating environment where each child will have the opportunity to develop according to  his / her ability, age and aptitude.

School Experience should help each pupil to :-

  • Acquire and develop knowledge, skills and understanding in language, numeracy and mathematical thinking.

  • Understand and appreciate themselves, other people, their surrounding environment and the wider world.

  • Develop creativeness using a variety of media to express ideas and feelings.

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of religion, its role in shaping society  and the development  of moral values.

  • Develop a sense of curiosity and independent thinking through problem tackling, information handling   and reasoning.

  • Develop self respect and a caring responsible attitude towards others and the wider environment.

  • Appreciate the benefits of healthy living and physical fitness.

#   AIMS FOR PARENTS

Markethill School aims to :-

  • Communicate with parents regularly through Newsletters, School  Events,  Induction Programme, PTA,   School Board, Open Days and the information for Parents Booklet.

  • Report to parents their child /children's progress through written reports, parent interviews,  visits to school as and when requested by either party.

  • Involve parents in class, group or whole school activities both in and outwith school.

  • Promote the development of positive parent / teacher relationships.

Markethill School aims to involve all staff :-

  • In creating an atmosphere which leads to effective teacher / pupil,  teacher / parent and   inter-staff relationships and welfare.

  • In the consultation process to develop whole school policies, incorporating local,regional and  national guidelines  and the implementation and evaluation of these as appropriate at whole school, class levels and individually.

  • In promoting and maintaining a well disciplined, motivating and stimulating environment in which the pupils can develop to their full potential in all aspects of the curriculum.
