Important Information for the Summer Don’t allow your children to forget their school work over the summer holidays. Encourage them to visit the library, to read a little every day, to learn spellings. To practise their tables until they know them off by heart, to write stories, to watch educational television programmes and videos etc.Try to visit at least one place of interest during the holidays:- For example
All of these are easy to get to and free or very cheap Have a very happy and safe holiday. See you in September.
Talking Health Organised by Shakila Kamal I am running a programme Talking Health on Tuesday afternoons 2.00-3.25pm. This involves professionals from different areas of health coming and speaking to parents about their particular area of expertise:
It will be very informative and interesting, plus there will be time for discussion afterwards. Trip to Blackpool There will be a trip to Blackpool on Saturday 21st July 2001. Tickets will be shortly available. We are expecting lots of interest, so first come first served. Behaviour problems Once again behaviour is becoming an issue at Marlborough. We have made great strides in education over the past few years and we cannot let behaviour problems stop this excellent progress. We will be getting tough on the following:
A Message from the Governors We the parent governors at Marlborough would like to say as always we are looking forward to hearing your views, and any concerns that you might have. Don’t forget talk time is held once every six weeks. The date, time and venue will be displayed on all the entrances to the school a couple of days beforehand.
Comings and Goings at Marlborough At the end of this term we say goodbye to Miss Hannington. Alison has worked at the school for three years, two of them spent as a year 5 teacher and one of them spent as a year 4 teacher. We would like to thank her for everything she has done for our school and wish her well at her new school—Marsh Hill. In September we welcome our “mum” back. Mrs Brown will be returning as a learning support assistant following the birth of her baby girl in March.
