Curriculum

We live in an age where everything seems possible, yet nothing is certain. A good Science education helps prepare our children for this world. Our team is passionate about Science, and this enthuses our students.

In Key Stage 3, we teach the National Curriculum through a lively set of topics, emphasising Science as a way of thinking, as well as building a sound understanding of facts and principles.

In Key Stage 4, our students extend their scientific skills. Most take Double Award, and their final grade counts as two GCSEs. Our exam results speak for themselves, as you can see.

We also have a consistently high uptake of Science at A-level by our students.

Children enjoy studying Science at Marlborough and achieve well as a result. This year 70% of our Double Award students achieved grade C or higher, with 40% earning a grade B or above.

Facilities

We have an outstanding set of labs, with excellent computer resources and equipment. This reflects our commitment to giving our students the best tools for the job. More importantly our students are taught by a team of highly qualified and enthusiastic specialist Science teachers.

Extra Curricular

We offer a wide range of extra curricular activities. As well as visits to the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and London Planetarium, there are field trips for GCSE students and lecture trips for our sixth formers. There is also the popular Astronomy Club and the Science Club, which gives students the chance to try out forensic science and make their own cosmetics. We also have our own ecology pond area, built by our students.
There really is something to interest everybody!
