Well Here is the scheme for you
MILLENNIUM VOLUNTEERS

The Scottish Executive has now confirmed funding to continue Mastrick's MV scheme till March 2002. So now we can offer more opportunities to more young people
Some of the voluntary work young folk have done over a year are; Decks/DJing Tuition, Trampoline Coaching, Youth Information Peer Workers, Management Committee Members, Domestic Violence Campaign Group Members, Under 12's Club Workers, Painting Crew, Youth Rights Peer Worker, Lifeguards, Creche Workers, Theatre Assistant, Drama Tutor
Volunteers have also had access to various relevant training courses ,  these have included: 

  • National Aquatic Rescue Pool Lifeguard Training
  • Scottish Gymnastics Association Trampoline Training.
  • Expectations of volunteers
  • Painting and Decorating Skills
  • Media Education
  • Budgeting
  • Health and Safety
  • Equal Opportunities
The scheme is open to any 16 - 25 year old in Mastrick, Summerhill or Sheddocksley

So go on get an M.V. certificate for your C.V. !

Young People Have Their Say

Would you like to meet like minded "active" young people at the same time?
Well we have the space and time for you - it is the Mastrick, Summerhill and Sheddocksley Youth Forum, there's not much to tell you as it is you who decides on which issues are tackled and when!
The Youth Forum is a "drop in" event with tea and coffee provided, so drop in for a cuppa and let us know what's on your mind ……… ………….contact Colin or Mandy for more info.
