Issue Seven...

What's it all about?

Netherton and Litherland Now hit the streets in July 1998 and was distributed to 20,000 homes and businesses in the Netherton and Litherland areas. This issue was eight pages in length, with colour front, back and centre pages.

This issue contained a feature about the development of local parks and open spaces and had single pages sponsored by Safer Merseyside Partnership and Dunningsbridge Partnership. The front page feature was centred around the installation of 10 new road signs around Netherton; paid for by the local business group in association with the Netherton Partnership, the idea was that people passing-by on busy roads would know where Netherton is. It was partly due to the lack of road signs pointing to Netherton that businesses locating in the area often give their addresses as Aintree, which is just up the road.

The centre spread concerned the recent World Cup in France. There was a photo feature about a trip made to the tournament by footballers from Bootle High, who watched a World Cup game as well as played their own mini-tournament.
