Netherton and Litherland Now hit the streets in Spring 1999 and was distributed to 20,000 homes and businesses in the Netherton and Litherland areas. This issue was eight pages in length, with colour front, back and centre pages.
This issue contained a feature about out of school activities in Netherton and was sponsored by the Safer Merseyside Partnership in consultation with Merseyside Police. The front page feature was centred around the investment Odeon Cinema's has brought to Netherton with the opening of the 12 screen multiplex cinema at Switch Island. The £5 million cinema development contains 2600 seats and boasts both Dolby and DTS digital sound.
The centre spread concerned the Exercise and Health Project for Sefton, EXCEL. There was a photo feature about pupils at Bootle High School taking a work-out with the Excel youth project. The project runs a number of initiatives to encourage people of all ages and fitness to take up a healthier lifestyle.
