THE FUTURE is looking ‘freight-fully’ good for Glenn Freight NW Ltd., Netherton’s rapidly expanding courier delivery service.

From humble beginnings, Glenn Freight has quickly grown into a thriving organisation. Operating from the Farriers Way Industrial Estate, the company is justifiably proud of its new sparkling new fleet of vehicles.

Glenn Freight NW Ltd. was formed following the merger of local courier company AJ Sameday and Gatwick-based international freight forwarder, Glenn Freight Services Ltd.

The Netherton firm now makes international deliveries to exotic destinations such as mainland Europe and as far south as Seville in Spain. Partners Alan and Colin Joyce see the development of European markets as essential to the company’s expansion plans.

Glenn Freight NW Ltd. is primarily a same day and next day delivery service. The company currently employs 12 people directly and around 20 self-employed owner-drivers who are carefully selected using rigorous security procedures.

All members of the Glenn Freight team live within the Merseyside boundaries and the current emphasis is on recruiting from the Netherton area with the help of the Netherton Partnership.

The Partnership has consistently been of assistance to Glenn Freight with start up and employment grants enabling the company to upgrade office equipment, build additional office capacity and employ local people.

In answer to the ever growing demand for their services, Glenn Freight is looking to move into larger premises within Netherton, hopefully on the existing site on Farriers Way.

The Netherton location has enabled the company to operate a 20-minute response time which has led to Glenn Freight becoming approved suppliers to various oil and gas companies based at the Liverpool Bay support centre in Bootle docks.
