Mr Bannister has been teaching in Stratford Upon Avon each summer for the last few years, at the Prince of Wales summer school, which was founded by Prince Charles himself.
The summer school brings teachers together from all over the country to study and explore different methods of teaching Shakespeare. There are opportunities to work with experienced actors, directors and designers.
Mr Bannister has met the Prince, who often visits Stratford. Prince Charles was particularly interested in how pupils on Merseyside responded to Shakespeare and Mr Bannister was glad to inform him that interest is high and that St. Ambrose Barlow’s special relationship with the Shakespeare company has meant visits to the school by the company to help with plays and pupils have been able to visit Stratford.
