Programme based around multi-sensory sound sheets.
Children learn the 42 letter sounds through the sheets.
Procedure
1. Sound sheet story
2. Do sound sheet (pc sec 1)
3. Reinforce sound on the following days using flash cards (pc sec 2)
4. As soon as sound sheet is completed the children
take this home
Order of letter sound groups
Plan to teach one group a week.
1. s,a,t,i,p,n.
2. chr, e,h,r,m,d.
3. g,o,u,l,f,b.
4. ai, j, oa, ie, ee, or.
5. z, w, ng, u, short oo, long oo.
6. y, x, ch, sh, voiced th, unvoiced th.
7. qu, ou, oi, ue, er, ar.
In pc 6 and pc 11 are games to play when learning
sounds.
Sound books
Every time a sound is learnt - child will stick it
in their sound book. they will revise the sounds at home.
Auditory training
Teach children to blend sounds together
Children practice these at home - starting with work box 1 which they practice until fluent before moving to word box 2.

Writing
It is also helpful to have 42 letter sounds written
on a card to prompt when a child can hear the sounds but cannot
remember how to write the letters for the sounds.
If the child cannot hear the sounds in the words
it is important for a child to carry on auditory training.
The following list is the main way of writing the
vowels and these should be taught first.
