A temporary and voluntary position reviewed
and re-allocated annually.
A Team Co-ordinator should :-
1. Foster a professional attitude to the
requirements of teaching such as :
i) good time-keeping.
ii) quality displays of children's work.
iii) expectations of high standards of attainment, behaviour dress and commitment by children.
iv) in-service education and training.
2. Influence and co-ordinate teaching arrangements
and styles so that the most efficient use of resources can be
made. Resources should include :
i) Physical resources.
ii) Individual expertise.
iii) Ideas and expertise.
iv) Time.
3. Liaise between teams, making teachers
aware of what has preceded and will follow their work, and to
ensure through careful planning that progression is achieved.
4. Promote and celebrate the achievements
of the year group to motivate the children and heighten standards
of children's work and behaviour.
5. Foster understanding and appreciation
by team members of the school's approach to the curriculum and
to influence and co-ordinate the work of teachers to support and
promote its development.
6. Be sensitive to the needs of the team
:
i) Offering advice and assistance when appropriate.
ii) Monitoring teaching styles and context.
iii) Influencing through example and contact.
iv) Enabling efficient evaluation to facilitate
future planning.
7. Provide a first point of contact with
support for teachers and maintain clear channels of communication
with senior staff.
8. Monitor year based resources, encouraging
appropriate storage and use, and oversee the maintenance of the
immediate environment.
