1 Classroom Manager
1.1 Involvement in all the facets that influence children's development in school by:
- leading by example
- upholding high standards and expectations

1.2 To promote quality learning by:
- purposeful, effective planning, with clear objectives and efficient use of time.
- creating and sustaining interest and motivation using a range or teaching
strategies.
- catering for the abilities and needs of all students
- having expectations that are appropriate for all pupils, providing varied and
balanced activities with levels of challenge within the task.
- remaining aware of current developments
- using assessment to improve students performance
- regularly and sensitively evaluating and responding to students work.

- being aware of the standards of achievements that reflect students potential.

1.3 To develop liaison by:

To liaise with curriculum co-ordinators to maintain
an overview of the curriculum.
To liaise with colleges in feeder and receiving school
to ensure continuity and progression are achieved, and that appropriate
and useful records are transferred.
To liaise with LEA advisory staff and attend appropriate
local and county groups to keep abreast with current developments.
To work to raise the profile of curriculum interest,
both within the school and the wider community, to undertake initiatives
and to explore ways to enrich provision.
To ensure that parents are well informed about the
progress of their child.
1.4 Organisation
To develop effective organisation and management of:
- space
- equipment
- the environment, including displays
- time
- furniture
- stockrooms
To match work to students attainment, using assessment,
recording and reporting to inform future teaching/learning.
To keep accurate and manageable, records of the achievement
of individual students.
1.5 To promote the best possible use of resources available by:
- developing and evaluating them as necessary.
- developing systems which ensure their efficient storage, accessibility and
availability
- monitoring their storage and maintenance.
- becoming familiar with those available in all areas and informing colleagues of
those in ones own control.
- maintaining a match of material with students abilities and current topics.
- sharing responsibility for the efficient use and upkeep of specialist areas.
- deploying associate staff to enhance provision
for the students.
1.6 To develop the use of target setting by:
- using methods to encourage, motivate and challenge all students, enabling them to
progress at a suitable pace and to be aware of their achievements and progress.
- providing activities that are well chosen to promote learning and ensuring that all
students are aware of their objectives.
- setting personal targets for achievements and developing ways in which excellence
can be celebrated.
- encouraging students to work towards their highest potential and take pride in their
achievements.

2. Subject Leader
2.1 Planning
Sharing / leading curriculum development throughout
the school, maintaining an overview of the work undertaken and
ensuring that continuity and progression are achieved, and that
there is clear evidence of progression within the four year groups.
Developing and reviewing appropriate documentation
in consultation with colleagues.
Ensuring that the curriculum meets the needs of the
National Curriculum, reflects quality and is broad and balanced.
Ensuring manageable and informative arrangements
for assessments.
Identifying, within the curriculum area the provision for:
- children with special educational needs
- the use of IT
- the identification of health and safety issues.
- equal opportunities.
- cross curricular links.
2.2 Staff Development
Identifying the needs of colleagues and the provision of the necessary support and guidance to ensure effective teaching within the context of the whole curriculum by:
- working alongside and in partnership with colleagues.
- leading through example and acting as a role model for good practise.
- planning and delivering appropriate in-service training.
- ensuring staff are introduced to new developments and current thinking to enrich
the learning opportunities in their classes.
- disseminating information to colleagues and encourage them to reflect on their own
personal development liasing with other schools..
2.3 Reviewing and Monitoring
To develop a more through knowledge of the curriculum
area within the school by applying quality assurance procedures
and making use of both internal and external validators.
To evaluate the quality of both teaching and learning by periodically carrying out orange of monitoring techniques that might include:
- looking at samples of work, lesson plans and records.
- direct observation of lessons and outcomes in the environment.
- talking to students, parents and colleagues.
- referring to Records of Achievement and reports.
