The Farm Approach

The Centre which belongs to the Worgan Trust, part of Bournville Village Trust, is an Educational farm and aims to give Nursery, Infant and Special School children the opportunity to visit and have direct contact, under proper supervision, with farm animals and the farming environment.

The children can experience different country smells and see at first hand cows, calves, bullocks, sheep, pigs, hens, cockerels, ducks, geese and bantams, some of which they will be able to feed, hold or stroke.

There is also a short nature walk around the farm which includes walking along a narrow leafy lane and across an open field.

Teachers are encouraged to take part in a pre-visit course in order to enhance the opportunities for the visit to enrich and reinforce the curriculum back in the classroom.
