NAGC can assist with the establishment of a whole-school policy and with practical curriculum and pastoral issues that arise from the working of such a policy.

Who are the trainers?
Peter Carey Director of NAGC .
Dr Edward Chitham NAGC Education Consultant.
Judith Dinsdale Education Adviser for NAGC.

What do we offer?

NAGC is a National Charity and we receive a DfEE grant and the support of many national charitable trusts for our work.
This academic year has seen a considerable expansion of our Education Service. We can now offer you help on a large number of the issues surrounding the provision for your highly able children.

* We have a helpline
Our helpline is designed to offer you immediate support and suggestions. You will be able to discuss topics relevant to your situation with experienced trainers and educationalists in the field of provision for the highly able.

* We have a Resource Collection
We are in close working contact with many of the major manufacturers and publishing houses providing resources for schools. At Milton Keynes we have our own Resource Information Centre which you are welcome to visit, by appointment. Alternatively, you may be interested in our resource guides. The guides have been compiled by teachers working with the highly able but also include recommendations from manufacturers, publishers and parents.

* We have topic-specific pamphlets
There are some aspects of provision for the highly able for which we are often asked to provide more information. To meet these needs we have a series of pamphlets covering a wide range of topics -
For example:-

* We have ‘connections’!
For almost 30 years we have kept in close working contact with many other organisations and experts in the field of educating the very able. We have an enormous network of contacts so we can help you arrange for an appropriate Key Speaker, living in your locality, if you need one. If you are simply looking for local contacts or mentors for your students we can probably help.

* We have a Countrywide Network of Support Groups
NAGC has over 35 thriving self support groups running throughout the UK. Each group organises activities for the highly able children in their area, working within the community to raise awareness on the very special needs of these children.

* We work with Parents as well as Schools
NAGC is unique as an organisation in that it works with both parents and with schools. For many parents, coming to terms with raising a highly able child is a very traumatic and exhausting experience. We can help both the parent and the school to work together, using their complementary skills, to ensure each highly able child grows to become a valued member of society.
