Rutherglen and Cambuslang Unemployed Workers' Centre
is funded by
South Lanarkshire Council.
We are a voluntary organisation managed by a committee
consisting mostly of local unemployed people
with some representatives from other relevant
bodies.
Unemployed people and the wider community are
encouraged to participate in the management
functions and activities of the organisation.
At our facility in Victoria Street, Rutherglen,
a range of free services is provided, primarily
for unemployed people. Our volunteer-based Information
and Advice Service is very popular and offers support with,
for example, queries regarding eligibility for state benefits,
filling out application forms, appeals against unfair decisions,
dealing with debt and telephone calls to officials on behalf of
clients.
