Youthnet
...a training programme for young people in Cambuslang, South
Lanarkshire, funded by the European Social Fund
as part of the transnational project
Youthnet is for young people, aged
16 to 19, living in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire,
Scotland. Trainees gain
Scottish Qualifications Authority
modules in Word Processing, Internet and
Communications.
Youthnet is funded by the
European Social Fund and is a 20 week course
designed to offer young people SQA modules as well as language
training and personal and social development.
During training, Youthnet trainees are encouraged to make online
contact with other young people in training organisations
involved in the Empatia project in Germany, Denmark, Italy and
Greece. Computer training is delivered at
NetWorks, the training arm of ProsPects.
At the end of the training, the young people are offered a short
work placement in an area matching their skills.
Youthnet courses are offered by ProsPects
, which is committed to the economic regeneration of
Cambuslang, helping local people improve their career options and
employment prospects and access training opportunities.
