Youthnet

...a training programme for young people in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, funded by the European Social Fund as part of the transnational project

Youthnet is for young people, aged 16 to 19, living in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Trainees gain Scottish Qualifications Authority modules in Word Processing, Internet and Communications.

Youthnet is funded by the European Social Fund and is a 20 week course designed to offer young people SQA modules as well as language training and personal and social development.

During training, Youthnet trainees are encouraged to make online contact with other young people in training organisations involved in the Empatia project in Germany, Denmark, Italy and Greece. Computer training is delivered at NetWorks, the training arm of ProsPects.

At the end of the training, the young people are offered a short work placement in an area matching their skills.

Youthnet courses are offered by ProsPects , which is committed to the economic regeneration of Cambuslang, helping local people improve their career options and employment prospects and access training opportunities.
