Zimmermen
Zimmermen began life in May 1992 as a "once only" celebration of Bob Dylan's 51st birthday by a collection of Oxford musicians already well-established on the local mucic scene.
This was so successful that many bookings followed and the band have
now developed a huge repertoire of Dylan songs,
performed in a wide range of styles from folk and rock to R & B.
However, it must be stressed that Zimmermen are not a lookalike, soundalike
tribute combo, just a great rock band that play only Bob Dylan songs.
Subsequently Zimmermen have entertained large audiences across the UK,
Germany and France. Arguably the most memorable of which was the 1994 Isis
Convention in Manchester, where hundreds of Bob Dylan fans from all over
the world found themselves dancing the night away to Dylan tunes as arranged
by Zimmermen.
'Zimmermen successfully transformed large sections of Dylan's song
catalogue into rip-roaring R & B.' - Record Collector Magazine,
May 1994.
