Pastoral Care
The key figure in providing effective Pastoral Care is the Form Teacher. It is essential for all pupils that they have a familiar figure to whom they may turn for guidance. In Year 7, great importance is placed on bridging the gap between Primary and Secondary education. In Years 8 and 9 the emphasis shifts to continuity within the School, and the pupils can normally expect the same Form Teacher for both years. In addition, the same Head of Year will accompany the boys through this period in the Lower School and will assume wider responsibility for the development of pupils in the Year group. Similarly, when the boys pass into the Upper School (Years 10 & 11) they will find that their new Form Teacher and Head of Year will stay with them until they move on again into the Sixth Form or elsewhere.
