During Year 9 meetings are held, including a courses information Evening, to enable parents to assist in the understanding of the courses which their children will follow in Years 10 and 11. A special "Courses Information Booklet" is prepared for parents and their children which will give details of all courses in Year 10 and 11
The course in Year 10 will follow the model as shown below.
Part One - The Core Subjects

All students will study French. A small number will study French for only 2 periods and will have Life Skills for 2 periods.

Students choose between History and Geography.
A significant number of students are expected to take Double Science however a small number will take single science and GNVQ.

All courses lead to a qualification in GCSE except Road Traffic Studies. No student may take more than two short courses.
