Courses Leading To a GCE A Level

The subjects offered on these courses are for two years' full time study and require that you have obtained at least four GCSE passes at grades A*, A, B or C. You should also note the specific entry requirements for each subject.

Most students study three A level subjects but it is possible to study only two A levels. In this case you should include one or more one-year subjects in your timetable. The availability of GNVQ Advanced Level now provides additional flexibility for combining traditional and vocational courses. The subjects available are:

MODULAR A LEVELS

At the present time, Science and Mathematics A levels follow a Modular syllabus. This means that students sit four Module Examinations during the two year course. The timing of these examinations is fixed by the Examination Boards, and students will be entered at the appropriate time. It is possible for students to resit a Modular Examination in order to improve their grade, but the entry fee for re-sit Modular Examinations is the responsibility of parents.
