The school often referred to as 'Shotton R.C.' is a Voluntary Aided Catholic School administered jointly by the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and the Local Education Authority in Durham. The Governors work with the Local Education Authority, the Head Teacher and staff to ensure that the children are given all the opportunities of a well-balanced education in a Catholic atmosphere.
Organisation and Staff
The children are at present organised into four classes and the members of staff are as follows:-
Teaching Staff
Miss M. Coughlin Headteacher. Responsible for the general administration of the school also Religious Education, English and Pastoral Care.
Mrs. L. Ashton Deputy Headteacher. Responsible for Maths, P.E. and Special Needs.
Miss J. Wilson Responsible for Science, I.C.T. and Geography.
Mrs. M. Thompson Responsible for Art, Technology and Library Resources.
Miss M. Emerson Responsible for History and Music.

Mrs. P. Armstrong - Clerical Assistant
Mrs. M. Wigham - Teaching Auxiliary

General Information
School Times
Infants 8.55am - 12 noon 1.15pm - 3.15pm
Juniors 8.55am - 12 noon 1.15pm - 3.30pm
School begins at 9.00 am. Children should be in the yard ready to go into school when the bell is rung at 8.55 a.m. Children should not be in school before 8.45 am. If, for any reason, your child needs to be in school any earlier than this, then please contact the Head Teacher so that arrangements can be made to ensure the safety of your child on the school premises.
