NEWSLETTER - 7TH OCTOBER 1998
Dear Parents,
Literacy Hour
We were pleased to be able to explain and demonstrate
aspects of the ‘Literacy Hour' at our meeting last week. In
case you were unable to attend we have produced a short leaflet
which we hope you will find informative. I also enclose a
‘flier' about an impending Book Week.
Consultation Evenings for Years 1 to 6
Many of you have had conversations with your children's
new teachers this term but at this time of year we like to
provide the opportunity to meet you if we haven't already done so
yet. If you would like an appointment on either Tuesday 13th
October or Wednesday 14th October, please fill in the slip below
(one for each child please) and return it to school by Friday as
we will be allocating times and sending them home that evening. A
separate letter and reply slip will be sent to parents of
Reception children for their consultations the following week.
School Photographs
We will be sending home either today or tomorrow, proof
copies of the children's photographs. You will be able to order
portrait sets through the school if you return the order form
with the appropriate cheque to school by Friday 16th October at
the latest. Cheques should be made payable to Pevensey &
Westham School. This will save you a service fee of £3.00.
If you are not in a position to order by this date you will be
able to order your photographs direct from Tempest Photography
(Cardiff) who will require the £3.00 service fee. The
envelope containing the proof copy and order form will have these
details on it.
School Crossing Patrol
Many of you will know that Mrs. Thomas, our Crossing
Patrol, is expecting a baby and she will therefore be unable to
continue with her duties after Christmas. We therefore need to
appoint a new patrol. If you are interested, or know of someone
else who might be, then please contact Mr. Bradley on 01273
482293. The working hours are 08.15-08.55 and 14.55-15.15, a
total of 6.25 hours.
