NEWSLETTER - 22nd OCTOBER 1998
Dear Parents,
Staff News
Miss Steains has tendered her resignation with effect from
Christmas in order to pursue activities outside of teaching for a
while. I am pleased to report that we have been able to appoint
Mrs. S. Davis to the staff and she will commence working with
Class 1 in January.
Harvest Service
We were pleased that so many of you were able to join us
for our Harvest Service in St. Mary's Church. Once again we were
overwhelmed by your generosity which enabled us to send 102 food
parcels to senior citizens in the locality. We have had many
letters of thanks from the recipients who are delighted to have
been thought of. We were pleased to be able to entertain the
local residents to tea in the afternoon after the service and the
older children entertained them with our Harvest and other songs
and once again they were also perfect hosts. I would like to
thank you for the gifts of food and also to thank those who
helped with the packaging and distribution after the service. The
collection taken after the service in aid of flood victims in
Bangladesh raised £71.08.
Art Competition
Congratulations are due to Kieran Joyce who won the recent
colouring competition organised by Kennedy's Garden Centre.
In-service Day
A reminder that we break up tomorrow (Friday) for half-term and
that Monday 2nd November is a training day for school staff. The
school therefore re-opens on Tuesday 3rd November.
Yours sincerely,
P.R. Fleming
Headteacher
