Friends of Cooper is a group of active and interested parents who meet regularly to discuss and organise educational, social and fund raising events throughout the school year.
There is no formal committee but the group operates at an informal level, with an open invitation to parents to attend planning meetings and events.
There have been a number of very successful events with ambitious plans to expand the range and nature of what the group organises in the future. We hold an annual Summer Fair and Autumn Auction. These events have raised considerable amounts of money which have been carefully spent on projects which have directly benefitted the students.
Educational events, such as a Drug Awareness talk, have been very successful and more are planned. We like to respond to the wishes and concerns of parents when planning these events.
Social events such as the Family Quiz Nights have proved very popular and the group is always open to suggestions which will bring our community together. For example, the group is currently planning trips out of town to a variety of venues such as theme parks and theatres.
The group is going from strength to strength. We greatly value the partnership being forged with parents and would welcome as many parents as possible to join the group and/or support events.
Should you be considering Sir Henry Cooper School for your child next year Friends of Cooper would like to offer you an invitiation to join them in the year's events. These will be publicised in the local press and through Primary schools.
